Pursuant to Section 75 of the Roads Act 1993, & Article 12 of the Roads Regulations 1994, notice is hereby given that Cork County Council proposes to temporarily close the following road for the period and reason specified below:-

R578 Glentanedowney – from Clamper Cross to junction with L-5091 (Knocknanagh)

Period of Proposed Closure

From 07.00hrs Tuesday 4th August 2020 to 20.00hrs Friday 14th August 2020 (Daily Closure)

Reason for Proposed Closure

To facilitate road works.

Alternative Routes

Traffic travelling from Newmarket towards Ballydesmond (R578) - at Glash Bridge turn left onto L-1035 signposted Boherbue. Continue on L-1035 to Keenahulla Cross and turn right onto the L-1036 signposted Kiskeam. Continue on the L-1036 to Horgan’s Cross and turn right onto the R577 signposted Kiskeam. Continue on the R577 through Kiskeam Village and onto Ballydesmond.

The stated diversion route is applicable in reverse when travelling in the opposite direction.

Limited Local access will be maintained throughout the duration of the Road Closure.

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing, to the undersigned, quoting Ref: TRC 91-2020, not later than 5pm on Tuesday 30th June 2020. Telephone contact details should be included in the objection.
