River Height Alerts: Terms & Conditions

Sensor data is provided by the OPW. This river height alert service from MapAlerter is for information purposes only and should not be relied upon for emergency events or situations.

1. You must have a free MapAlerter account to subscribe for river height sensor alerts.
2. Sensor data is provided by the OPW. If sensor data from either provider becomes unavailable then MapAlerter is not responsible for any failure to issue alerts.
3. The OPW or MapAlerter may remove this sensor from its network at any stage and without prior notice. If that situation occurs, the sensor will be removed from your subscriptions and you will no longer get alerts from the subscription. MapAlerter is not responsible for any sensors that are removed from the OPW network.
4. Alerts are issued via email and/or MapAlerter app push notification. SMS alerts are not issued for your river height alert subscriptions.
5. Some email providers may bypass "@mapalerter.ie" emails from your inbox. MapAlerter is not responsible if any river height sensor alerts bypass your inbox and you fail to read the alert.
6. River height data is provided "as is" from the original OPW sensors, published on www.waterlevel.ie. MapAlerter is not responsible for any errors in the data. The OPW remains the owner of the OPW sensors data and MapAlerter is reusing this data as it is provided under an open data licence.
7. The MapAlerter river height alert service is a component of the overall MapAlerter experience and it is intended as an information service. You should not rely on data from these alerts for any emergency or life-saving situation. You should assume that data may not be available for this or any other sensor from time to time and therefore it should not be relied upon for mission-critical situations, emergency events or situations.
8. When you delete a sensor subscription, it means that you will immediately cease getting alerts for the sensor. You can reactivate a subscription at any time.
